About the Book:
This book was written with the intention of catering to the needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students who required a book for describing the management of diseases specifically localized to the region while retaining all the substantial material that an aspiring medical professional might need to consult.
This book has examination-related material; with key points highlighted in boxes for each chapter to aid students make a quick review during exams and ward rotations. Each chapter contains MCQs and SEQs with explained answers that are prepared according to the latest examination formats of most universities and colleges. A significant number of illustrations prepared by the Author also accompany the text to facilitate understanding. As this book provides a general and basic account of all the routine disorders, it will also be relevant to general practitioners and students of Audiological Sciences.
About the Author:
Prof. Khalid Cheema, after doing his graduation from Rawalpindi Medical College, started his professional career at Lahore, serving multiple tertiary care public sector hospitals. He has a Fellowship in Otolaryngology by CPSP and a Diploma in ENT from PU with a gold medal. He is known for his work as a Senior Consultant at Mayo Hospital, Services Hospital, Lahore; as Professor of ENT and Head & Neck Surgery at Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, and Gujranwala Medical College; and as Chairperson and Head of ENT Department and Board of Studies, King Edward Medical University. He is currently serving at the UHS affiliated Central Park Medical College, Lahore where he is managing a well-structured academic program. Those under his mentorship remember him as an inspirational personality with the ability to discuss complex clinical cases with great clarity. His passion to impart knowledge and skills to students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels can be seen in how he helped organize numerous workshops and seminars including the 28th PSORL International Conference at Lahore in 2018, which was later ranked as the Best Academia in the history of Pakistan’s Society of Otorhinolaryngology. Moreover, there are about 30 publications in national and international journals to his credit, representing Pakistan in a true academic spirit.
