The ILSS series is specially written to provide lower secondary science students with a solid foundation for learning science at a higher level. This series uses an inquiry, constructivist and interactive approach to help students acquire scientific concepts, skills, and processes. Each activity is closely linked to the respective sections in the textbooks, thus encouraging students to apply their theoretical knowledge to practical situations. The revision worksheet provided at the end of each chapter serves as a formative assessment to help teachers evaluate students’ understanding of the chapter and also reinforces concepts that students have learned.
